Blanking Plate

Blanking plates are used as a secondary (backup) shut-off device downstream of diverters and louver dampers. They typically slide into position (guillotine) or are bolted in place. Sealing is achieved by a ledge type design or by means of a gasket.

Function:

  • Provides additional protection for maintenance personnel working in the HRSG downstream of the primary shut-off device when the gas turbine is in open cycle operation

Advantages:

  • Low pressure drop in open position
  • Simple and sturdy design
  • Further reduced heat radiation due to insulated blade

Parameters:

Size: up to 64 m²
Temp. range: up to 670 °C
Pressure: up to 100 mbar
Materials: carbon steels, stainless steels
Actuation: electric or manual
Insulation: internal (standard), external
